DATES

Humanities Spring in New York 2010 runs from August 1st to August 21st. We are also giving HSNY students the option this year to extend their stay by an extra 10 days until August 31st (see Snazzy Extras for more details).

PROGRAM COSTS

HSNY 2010 costs 2,650 euros (flight included) for students who sign up on or before April 15 (after the 15th the price will increase to reflect increased airfare). For those who prefer to organize their flights themselves, the cost of the three week course and the stay at the Y is 1,850 euros.
We are also offering small work-study scholarships to university students (on the basis of merit and need).
Students may sign up for HSNY until June 4th (last day for enrollment).

Price includes:

• Roundtrip airfare, airport pickup and return (from JFK to Y)
• NYC bus and subway passes
• Classes
• Walking tours and guided visits
• All admission fees to group-attended museums, galleries, etc.
• All tickets to Shakespeare in the Park, Harlem Gospel and other group-attended events
• Double room at the Y
• Breakfast and sandwich lunches (American classics, from peanut butter & jelly to chicken salad)
• 1 HSNY banquet in China Town
• Good-bye Circle-line tour (by boat) of Manhattan
• Medical insurance coverage (valid 8/1-8/28).

Application fee:
There is also an additional HSNY Application Fee of 50 euros, which will be used to cover HSNY enrollment and textbook expenses.

Dinner is not included at HSNY because...
Uptown and downtown, there are wonderful restaurants all over New York (from very cheap to very expensive). Of course, students can always decide to stay home at the Y and cook their own dinners in our Y kitchen, either individually or in groups. But at least some of the time, all Humanities-Springers go out and explore NYC's myriad restaurants. We help you to discover your own favorites, whether it is Pig Heaven (a famous Chinese restaurant near the Y) or Jackson Hole (NY’s classic hamburger joint) or the Kiev with its huge portions of wonderful Ukrainian food, restaurant in the East Village many New Yorkers especially love (about 12 minutes from the Y by subway; the subway makes everything close). For relaxed, low-key dinners just a few minutes walk from the Y, HSNY especially recommends the Barking Dog Café (good American cuisine, especially Southern) and its Blue Plate summer specials (12-14 euros).

ENROLLMENT

To enroll in HSNY, please click on the following HSNY Enrollment Form. To enroll officially in HSNY you must fill out all four parts of the Enrollment Form (A, B, C, & D!)and send it back to us with your Application Fee (50 euros).

PAYMENT TIME-TABLE

HSNY Application fee (50 euros): Your Application Fee must be sent in to Humanities Spring with your Enrollment Form.

HSNY Deposit (500 euros): As soon as we receive your Enrollment Form and Application Fee, we will notify you of your official enrollment in HSNY. You must send your deposit (500 euros) within 7 days of notification to guarantee you a place in this summer's program.

HSNY Payment-in-full: Payment-in-full must be sent to us at Humanities Spring on or by June 4th.

PAYMENT METHOD
